Kinda gave up on the Opeth discog after taking like half a year for each album and then drifting away, dunno if I ever heard this, hmmm

T/t of BWP is among their very best. Never really liked the Wilson in Bleak but the rest of it rules agreed.
Also this record is lovely and one of their most underappreciated heavy ones.

Damnation is absolutely not da metulz, but it is absolutely wonderful and remains pinnacle non-growl Opeth. It gets bonus points for THAT review as well.

That's why I think this album is so interesting. Instead of nwobhm/thrash metal being influenced by progressive rock, it seems almost like progressive rock influenced by extreme metal. That's not a ratio I recall seeing anywhere else, even from opeth.
