"I feel like this album is a barometer for me just not being as into this genre of music as I used to be when I was younger. After a couple of listens I'm in the 2.5-3.5 territory with it. I think TSOM is where things start to pick up, I really dislike Genesis and Ceremony (god those chorus vocals are so bad) so the first impression here wasn't great. Some of the guitar riffing, ex: verse of Radiant City and beginning of Urantia, gets too cheese for me. The production on here is definitely good, though. I'd question if anyone calling this AOTY has actually listened to much other music this year. "

I've listened a shit ton of music this year, Jason.

He basically implied to me on Twitter that he hates Deftones imo, so there's that. At least he's being honest

I get the feeling he just isn't to the Deftones. Most of his past reviews for em were lukewarm too.

In This Moment is a band out of North Hollywood, California. They play a style of metalcore that is based more around thrashmetal than melodic deathmetal. They can set themselves out of the monotony of most metalcore becuase of thier use ofinterludes and better placed breakdowns, as well asfrontwoman Maria Brinks superb vocals. Their debut album 'A BeautifulTragedy' came out in February, 2007. Released in September 2008, their 2nd album 'The Dream' contains a hard-rock type of vibe, since it uses much more melodyand clean vocals. Come July 2010, In This Moment released their 3rd LP 'A Star-Crossed Wasteland'.
