I just did pixel measurements between our pictures. Yours is the exact same height as mine.

"this ilike the 6th time they’ve written that intro"
Idc, it's amazing every time they do it, haha.

Don't use paint, use a site that shrinks images for you like here https://resizeimage.net/

Haha so Sputnik just automatically changes the dimensions of my pictures? my profile pic looks stupid since the site condensed the width for some dumbass reason. Man the code for this site is seriously antiquated lol
|
| |
Use the site and resize it while keeping the ratio the same or whatever it's called. Always works for me

This is my favorite Deftones record and Genesis sounds like it could belong here, so I'm definitely excited.

bloc: Is your avatar the same width as mine by choice then?
|

It looks like yours and mine are identical in size, but I did have to resize mine to fit with the site rules

I understand not liking Ohms, but man Genesis blew me away, dont really get the Diamond Eyes comparison or the intro being rehashed.

The intro style is definitely in the same vein as 'Leathers' and 'Rosemary', but it's by no means a bad thing. In fact, a lot of that synth/ambient stuff was sorely missing from 'Gore'. They had minor incorporations of it on 'Hearts/Wires' and '(L)MIRL'--but it didn't captivate the ears the way those sounds did on DE and KNY.
I'm not one for trying to convert people; If someone doesn't like the new single, fair enough. But to me, it's a very welcomed return to the sound I fell back in love with in 2010.
Very much feel like this album will be a nice trilogy capper for DE and KNY, and I couldn't be happier if that is indeed the case.

Scoot remember when kny released and the average on here was at 4.7 for a day? But then the pleb uprising was quenched, they got rekt hard

I will say I don't really get the Diamond Eyes comparison as far as the riffs go, either, though.
It sounds like the lower end stuff has more in common with the self-titled album than their last three albums.

I feel like Genesis is going for that same dark, proggy, arty alt metal sound that Koi was going for on Leathers, Tempest, Rosemary, etc. but pulling it off much more seamlessly. I'm in the minority on Koi, though - I do like it, but it's never been my favorite albums of theirs.

You definitely aren't in the minority. It's one of my least fave Deftones, too.

It's pretty clearly DE 2.0 lite.

Koi is, that is.

strange, Koi is my no. 1 and DE, while amazing, doesn't crack my top 3 (Koi, SNW, ATF)
