Well it seems Gore gets hate no matter the source lmao. I actually think its alright, has a "dreamy" kinda feel to it. But still near the bottom of their discog imo.

It's their worst one for me. I've been going back to Adrenaline recently and that album is so underrated. It has some killer riffs and bass lines as well as Chino just going crazy. Had it not been so heavily associated with the nu-metal label I feel like it would get more positive reception these days.

Yeah, Adrenaline has been growing on me a lot recently too. So much so that I now think Gore may be their worst for me as well. It's close though.

Gore is held in pretty high regard from what I've seen elsewhere.

Definitely bottom half of their discog for me, though.

I would disagree. Most of the hype towards the new album I've seen comes with a sort of "please more Steph, Gore sucked" conviction

Basically yeah, a call for more heaviness as opposed to the dreamier elements

I'd put Gore at the bottom of my list, but I still have it at a 4.
The band's sound just does it for me.

Deftones are at their best when they go down the dreamy route.

This and KNY are perfect examples.

Not saying I don't like their heavier stuff but they're definitely at their best when head down the dreamy/melodic route.

It's part of what makes then so unique tbh.

They’re at their best when they manage to combine the two imo.

What I mean is my standout Deftones songs are mainly their more dreamy material.

You poor deprived soul, I’m jealous. Deftones are probably my favorite band. You have a lot of amazing music to look forward to my man.

For me it's the songs that combine the two: Digital Bath, Passenger, Beware, Knife Party, etc

All Deftones is great to me, from their raw shit, to their more dreamy stuff. I love it all.

Oh yeah, me too. My favorite songs are just the fusion of the two.

The contrast between their dreamy sound and their mature, aggressive sound is the primary reason for why I love this band. On White Pony, it was Digital Bath and Elite. On this album, it was Rapture and Cherry Waves. There's a lot more examples in their discography, but these stand out to me the most.
