not by a long shot imo. The vox on 'Kettle are the worst he's done, the beginning is fantastic but the transition into that "heavy" riff @1:44 is super awkward and ruins the flow of the song. And those riffs don't even feel like they belong there, as well as sort of make it sound like a Black Dahlia Murder-esque track, which is weird. The solo is eck and feels weird. And then it sort of just goes around screamgazeville for the rest of the song with no tempo shifts or anything interesting

Damn, zaruyache. I can see your gripes about that riff, but I really enjoyed the simplicity of the solo and its smooth transition into the bridge and thought his vocals, or at least the mixing, was a big step up in comparison to Sunbather.

I kinda get what you mean about the vox and in parts they seem to work better with the music, but I also didn't love his vox on sunblabber either so :3 Vox on the demo were the best I think, then Judah.

lp3 aoty tho? I'm getting really angsty about it, given they start touring soon and there's been no announcement yet about release date/title/tracklist/track previews.

with a lot of century left it'd probably foretell of a worldwide calamity in the future if this was to be the aotc. Bring on Nibiru, I guess?

They've posted updates about recording it, I think we might see a late fall release? Anticipating it more than anything.

My buddy said I'd like this because it was black metal. I didn't like it as much as I thought it was because I thought it would be black metal.

This isn't pure bm, it's blackgaze or post-black metal or whatever you want to call it.
