even if u did listen to it, obviously you listened to it with the sole purpose of rating it a 1.0, and didn't give it a fair chance (by far)
mods only delete them when it's a significant amount of albums by the same artist, which it was. it's not a perfect system, but it's what we have. ENTIRE BRING ME THE HORIZON ALBUMS

@DeadlyNightShade: The musicianship doesn't mean shit is the songwriting is terrible so that way to be 'objective ' kinda fails. Easiest example in the book: Dream Theater on Systematic Chaos.

^ Not necessarily true. I rated some helloween albums a 1 and it might look like troll ratings, for instance. However, i have friends that are fans and i even saw them live (well...they opened for Maiden, what can i say lol) and i did listen to the albums because a lot of people told me they were great. If it's like this, i think it's alright to rate albums how you liked them.
I'm not about to go rate the rest of Helloween's albums i've never ever heard, though.
How can mods know stuff like this ? They either let people rate as they see fit and hope it all pans out or they intervene on everything but i'm pretty sure it balances out, anyway. There isn't much troll ratings here from what i've seen (go see ratings on some video game websites xD).

there's no truly objective opinion on anything, but objectivity is itself in a gradient. there's layers to it, and the mods decided that they're going to draw the line at rating 1.0 entire discographies (or close to it). it's a price we pay for a more-or-less smooth experience

@Asdfp: Yeah all those points ring true, mostly if they keep doing it, It's for more 1's. Having more of a personal dialogue with the user and just deleting those 1 ratings minus the first 2 would be so much better than what we have now.

To my ears, it's bad. Obviously its a good album to the majority of people but I don't like it so I rated it based off how I felt about the album. Why wouldn't I rate it if this is how I felt?

i think it's fine, you don't like it at all, and you gave it your rating. it would be a different story if it was believable that you had a bias towards a particular band, but
beside, how else is he going to get accustomed to the genre if he doesn't listen to it

I'm not a trolllll I didn't like the albummmmmm. Also I didn't say it deserves a 1. Also also why tf do I have to judge it objectively?? If it sounds bad to me why would I give it higher than I feel?
