"Ngl, that teaser did nothing for me."

Bro, that's LITERALLY the point of a teaser. When you watch a movie trailer and someone says, "that trailer didn't interest me at all" do you say "It was only 1 minute of a movie"?

The whole point of a teaser is to get the viewer pumped about what is to come. Ambient noise doesn't get me excited. That's like having a movie trailer that's just the opening credits.

trust me, if you've given KNY a 4, you'll love Genesis, it's like Tempest plus Leathers

I don't understand why people are evaluating a song based on a 30 second ambient intro lol. I don't even get why they'd release that as a teaser. Weird.

Can I hold back from Genesis? Probably not, especially when it seems like a new video is on its way haha. And Flash's comment above? My bones are shaking.

Guitar in opening reminds me of POD - Youth of the Nation for some reason

I'm probably going to be crucified for enabling the hype with this post, but while Genesis very much sounds like Leathers and Rosemary had a baby, there are some strong moments of White Pony vibes as well. There are certain parts of the song that remind me so much of 'Change'.

If this song, Urantia, and Ohms are anything to go off of, this will be an album of the year candidate easily.

And if the album remains consistently good as these tracks, it WILL be their best album since Diamond Eyes.

What a massive return for these guys after the underwhelming sound of Gore.

They better keep working with Terry Date going forward. He unlocks the full potential of Deftones.

this song is signature Deftones; that transcendental bridge into the last chorus is perfection

It's okay... The riff sounds like something ripped from Diamond Eyes and the chorus isn't very exciting.

Also this lol.
