open minded? XD
i dont mean to mock, im just joking, but im the type that loves psychedelic music and no im not constantly stoned out of my mind (i dont think PF were during this period and onward either, could be wrong)
also - i get not liking it, it isnt easy listening by any means (which most of the rest of the song kind of is, but thats the point, song is an "epic")

What I'm trying to say is that I enjoy that part depending on my mood or the activity that I'm doing. For example, it is not the part of the song I would like to hear while driving...

I honestly don't think Echoes would be the masterpiece it is without that section. There's a sort of "magic" about the timing and spacing of everything in that song, I'm not really sure how to explain it but every part comes in and ends at precisely the right moment.

I appreciate the creative conceptual aspect of the middle section, I just get the feeling that I want to skip it when it comes up

I think I see it on the same way as Camilo, I like that part but I only truly enjoy it when I'm in the mood for it. The first and final sections of the song on the other hand will always sound excellent for me. It ain't bad, it is just a difficult pill to digest. It is true that is is that section the one that gives the song its identity, I give you that

All sacred albums for me. I don't care that much about The Wall to be honest.

Not as epic as the solos in Dogs though.

exactly, if the middle section doesn't sit well then you're not entirely understanding the composition of the song, that or the aim of the song isn't your fancy and theres no way around it. the imagery for that part is outstanding, particularly when the keys and gilmour's guitar lick begin to break through the fog like the light at the end of an impossibly long tunnel... its by far my favorite moment in the band's discog
