okay, new ranking, I was inspired so listened to this again (with Fallout 4 for the zillionth time x hazy Citra IPA, cos I’ve regressed to a surface-level nerd, apparently)…

The Moor / Serenity Painted Death (shocker!), White Cluster, Godhead’s Lament, Moonlapse, Melinda, Benighted

something like that. The closing pair have caught up massively, even if the (non)transition between them remains as weird as it always was lol

Tough to pick a fave, for now I'll just say that Face of Melinda, Serenity Painted Death and Benighted all go hard.

Love everything here, but I go back to White Cluster and Moonlapse Vertigo the most. The latter has my favourite Opeth riff (the one that kicks in around the 2:30 minute mark)

I like the low grunt followed by the high scream when the vocals first come in on the first track. Is there an actual lyric there or is he kinda just vocalizing?
