@Metalrain I will admit I LOVE that part on charging the void where it goes "Carry forth or plummet to death" and theres that effect on the vocals as he says "death" that sounds fucking awesome I love those parts where they add effects

Pretty much no one is gonna agree with me I imagine but I just wanna give a rant. If it was me: lf you're gonna give an album a really low or high rating in my eyes you should criticise your own arguments in your head before you rate it. Like for example giving it a 1 just because you hate the genre for what it is as a concept itself or to spite someone is not good enough.

However you're left with 2 options: Either enforce all ratings under a strict criteria or just left anything happen and suck it up/deal with it. There is was too many biases that will happen with the former so the latter is the option we have.

Drifter: don't rate it, then. If it's a genre you don't like overall, you can't really judge if it's good or not. People don't want to know what a guy that listens to crap thinks about an album. They want to know what people that like the genre the album is think.



Heck, if i had to rate every crap song i ever heard on the radio, i would be doing ratings 100% of my time. Stick to what you're familiar with. I don't like Rai, r'n'b or kpop, i'm not going to go rate stuff i heard someday and found awful. I just won't listen to it unless i can't help it.

@Faenrir sometimes people rec listens to you though and want your opinion, everyone is welcome to rate an album(albeit maybe this doesn't warrant Drifter to 1 this). Personally, when I don't dig something and musicianship is good or whatever I'll rate like 2.5 or 3. I think instances like this if you wanna rate you just need to try to be objective. That's my two cents.

His 1 is a troll rating because he doesn't judge this objectively (which, as you said, is fine if you don't like the genre).

Seriously, saying one of the best new metal releases deserves a 1 when he obviously has no clue makes him a troll.
