damn, I always trip out at that part, it's some of the freakiest sounding stuff Ive heard. it doesn't matter how long it lasts, it bathes you in another realm of terror that only david gilmour can save you from, and oh how he does. Really makes the whole song a complete piece if you ask me

People that enjoy minimalism or drone music might enjoy that, not my style though

nah I am not a big drone fan, that part wouldn't be nearly as effective if it were on its own. But the way it fits in the song works amazingly, how the jazzy section fades into it and then the way the shimmering guitar comes out and takes you up from the murky depths.

Yeah that's for sure, as I said, Floyd has a ridiculous amount of classics

About Pink Floyd, here it is my opinion. While “The Dark Side Of The Moon”, “Wish You Were Here” and “Animals” are three absolute masterpieces, “Meddle” and “The Wall” are also masterpieces but with inferior value. About “Meddle”, if instead of “San Tropez” and “Seamus” had two other better songs, it would be certainly a better album.

This is what I think.

yeah san tropez and seamus suck, but I personally would put this album up there with Dark Side, Animals and wish just on the strength of Echoes

The wall is really hit or miss for me, definitely better than what came after it but not close to as good as what was before it

The Wall is one of those albums that divide entire fanbases

Yeah, but The Wall is even a great album, one of their best, for sure.

Overrated by the mainstream media, underrated by Sputnik, that's how I see it

lol yeah the wall makes people fight sometimes for sure. I like most of it but the way it ends is garbage to me, ruins most of the experience

"The Wall is one of those albums that divide entire fanbases"

honestly I think The Final Cut applies to this sentiment more. TFC is a classic btw. The Wall is a great album but there's a lot of filler. but once you get past the filler there really is some great stuff on it. one of my turns and nobody home are easily two of my fav floyd songs.

Final Cut vs. Division Bell is probably the biggest Floyd related debate you can get, and that's the only thing I'll say cause I don't wanna resurrect that debate for the millionth time

Yeah, The Final Cut is clearly one of their weakest studio works. It's more a Waters' album than a band's album. It was the result of the profound divisions inside the band.

I gotta say I hate the final cut. it does divide Floyd fans way more than the wall, but to me it just expands on the aspects of the wall that I disliked, not very exciting musically at all
