By far the best brand new take of the four or so I’ve seen so far

Violent astrology is the one that never really clicked with me and drove me nuts that they were so committed to playing it live (and NEVER Field Sobriety Practice), so good to hear it is among other people’s favorites I guess

Title Track is their best song and the highs on this are right up there with it

first negative opinion i've seen on Violent Astrology woah

easy 10/10 song to me, they did NOT play it the first time i saw them but opened with it for the 2nd time and god, it was exactly what i needed. should be a live staple

I don’t know how I feel about this… Firmly rooted in mid 2000s worship, with heavy parts sounding like Dillinger Escape Plan (at best) and the clean vocals sounding like early FOB Patrick Stump. Maybe I was in a bad mood, but this album really irritated me and felt like the opposite of forward-thinking. I’ll give it another shot fam

Nostalgia for the 2000s?

musically, I get it!

…not so much nostalgia from being a teen generally tho (although nostalgia is weird, in that it has a habit of separating and preserving some good memories, despite the avalanche of shit surrounding them)

talking of 00s with regards to genre fuckery core, more bands should rip off The Always Open Mouth

The Always Open Mouth is definitely a highlight of the 2000s. Was there clean vocals on Celebrity Therapist? I don’t remember them but I haven’t jammed since it came out

5 minutes in and we've hit our first gimmick sax solo uh okay let's go

and yeah Celebrity Therapist had pretty solid theatrical cleans, but for whatever reason he's singing like a scene baby (so far) on this

johnny, real talk human to human, does it get miserable engaging music like that all the time? i'm guilty of it too, it's just every time i try to hyper-nitpick i end up in a bad mood these days

dunno i turned this off halfway and switched to something else while i work on a review (though it does pick up on Two-Headed Trout)

generally speaking, using my brain for its natural function does not put me in a bad mood though no

So you didn't even finish the record and you're gonna review it?

That immediately takes all credibility away from what you have to say
