This album was such a shocking surprise. Top tier stuff to cap off a massive career. Likely going to get a vinyl copy

Been confirmed that the next album is 100% done and is even "more dismal" than this one was. Suspect Bodiam Sky will be included on it. But the one after that - probably the final album - is going to be upbeat and poppy.

One thing I'd like to know is if Perry Bamonte recorded on the new album before he died. This one was already wrapped in 2019 before Bamonte rejoined, and in 2024 when SOALW dropped they were saying the next album was already nearly recorded - so a good chance the next release will be Bamonte's final recordings. Don't think they'd started work on the final album before he died though.

Nah Rob said from the time this album was announced that he had plans for two albums after this before retiring in 2027 - at the time this dropped the second of the three was already nearly finished and now that's all done, so they're working on the final effort now.

I joked that Cardiacs have the same sort of plan - released LSD, said they have 2 more albums of material to record then will call it a day - and they and The Cure should do a joint farewell tour.
