re previous page: auto-tune in itself isn't necessarily an issue and can of course be an artistic choice, rather than just covering up for someone who 'can't actually sing' etc. but my issue here (specifically), is that DESPITE the vocal manipulation, her voice still sounds bland to me
go ham, add all the effects, sometimes it sounds cool. I have absolutely no issue when that's the case. It's a tool to be used. I just don't like the way it's applied here

My problem with autotune is that it exaggerates the Céline Dion/Whitney Houston/Mariah Carey effect I hate so much in singing. You know, when they let their voices loose, very looooose.
And about the argument that we shouldn't talk about autotune cause it's not 2007 anymore: autotune should be just as much of a discussion topic as pan flutes. Those crappy instruments have been around for hundreds of years, and they still ruin everything they're in. Autotune is the pan flute of the 2000s. But I'm tryin to get over it, have talked to me diary.
