While I wouldn’t use the word boring at all, scaled back works and I’d probs agree with that. But because of that is what makes this so damn good. It allows individuals to shine at different times, especially the vocals, and it pays dividends as opposed to most djent just instrument farting to try to sound technical.
Also the crescendos on this thing are massive. Some of the build ups and pay offs here are chill inducing. I’ll take that over some binary rhythms any day

yeah the payoffs on this are all the peaks. end of legion, end of tender, end of sacrifice, end of echoes, etc. they tastefully yet dynamically mapped out tracks pacing wise so they all hit like crazy during the high impact points
