Very mixed on Vaxis 2 but this new one is already dunking on it. THe production alone is so much fucking better and actually being able to hear Travis and him doing shit is so nice to have again. Worst album art I've ever seen in my fucking life tho lmao what are they thinking.

Actually loving this and I haven't even hit the suite yet. I fuckin hated Blind Side Sonny lmao I can't believe they released that doodoo as the first single. It's a little better in context but it's definitely by far the weak link here so far, just got to it on the album.

Anyone who enjoyed The Afterman will be happy with the new one.

The album art on Vaxis II was atrocious, the new one isn't great but a considerable improvement when you see the full image.

Yeah idk I hated V2 art for sure and i guess I'm not seeing the full V3 art but just the kids head in the shitty ass circle looking AI as fuck is one of the worst things I've ever seen with my eyes.

Callback to the Hollow in the intro instantly got me and yeah Goodbye Sunshine was just a really good return to form of solid catchy Coheed that really kept up a steady pace with some good spicy surprises mixed in and the suite is going harder as fuck, easy 4 that might wind up growing, gonna have this looped at work tomorrow after expecting to listen to this once and hop off it.

Just got to Someone Who Can and so far I'm enjoying the album a lot. Some of the '80s cheese works for me and some of it is a little flat but still better than what they did on I and II. Fucking love the title track and Play the Poet. Interested in what this upcoming suite is going to sound like.

V3 > V2 > V1

The Dark Sentencer clears all of this album though.

This is their “Fall Out Boy” album. That’s nothing to be proud of but some catchy tunes for sure.

I find fall out boy moments littered throughout all of their recent work tbh

I don't know. I just re-listened to this a couple of times and it's actually better than I remember. Lots of quality tracks but a weirdo one I stand by is blood

I've Bad Man on constant repeat today, one of the best tracks of their modern era.

In all fairness, I don't understand why Vaxis I has a higher average than this, Color and Black Rainbow (and the same as No World for Tomorrow). That album is such a slog, two thirds of it belong in the trash can.

Okay, I was too harsh on V1. It's neat, starts and ends strong but drags a bloody lot in the middle. This one doesn't really have songs of such magnitude as Sentencer or All On Fire but is more balanced and flows better. A fair trade.

It'd be better with Shoulders, Bad Man, and maybe Our Love incinerated and never heard again. Don't love every song here but Shoulders and Bad Man really drag this down for me and ruin the flow since I have to skip them.

But also I have to skip a bunch of songs between Vaxis I and III too, so...

Huh. Bad Man is an oddball, though I like it heaps. Shit's just epic. Our Love I could sacrifice, it flows well with the bunch and doesn't do much else. I'd say the same about Yesterday's Lost if it weren't somewhat saved by its placement as an album intro.

Funnily Enough I love Yesterday's Lost and it got me welling it up the first time I heard it thanks to the lyrics. Kind of crazy how vastly people's opinions of Coheed songs vary from like YOTBR onwards but it seems especially prominent with the Vaxis project.
