its crazy to me that so many people are complaining about the slower songs dragging. for me they feel like the shortest 7+ minute songs ever lol, the pacing and the subtle buildups keep me completely engaged the whole time

after like 12 billions listens i think i can say that my top 3 here are thoroughfare, sun bleached flies, hard times
but it is really really close with approximately every other song on here

I’m glad Teenrager is the only song of its kind. In fact despite what some may say I feel every song here is pretty distinct. But with Teenager in particular I appreciate that is even more unique for being the only big stadium pop song, more like that wouldn’t have fit as well with the themes and narratives and also would have just undermined the impact that one has. That aside, I won’t make the mistake P4k did by implying the other songs don’t resonate as pop - there are tons of great hooks and strong choruses throughout this despite the slowness.

I've been listening to this an awful lot as well and I've narrowed my favorites down to Sun Bleached Flies, Ptolemaea, Thoroughfare, A House In Nebraska, and American Teenager. Not sure how I could possibly choose the best three however; I love them all equally like really dark, sad children.
