After a lot of reflection, I've decided that I like this album more now than I did when it dropped. I also like it more than Alien in that the quality is much higher across the board vs. just a pair of catchy tracks. I don't love the all-in shift in the electronic direction as much as others do, but I actually do enjoy Marcus' vocals (probably a minority opinion). There is definitely a noticeable second half slump and I still have no idea why Nova exists.

comin thru late to the party

I spun this earlier and clockwork is a absolute jam and the electronic elements are interesting more often than not (nice to hear a band incorporating them in a way that isn't just trying to rip BMTH),

not sure how i feel about it as a whole yet, as the album is too long, and sometimes it feels like they trying wayy too hard to be catchy with some of the lyrics/rhyming.

As someone who really loved their og vocalist though and not really familiar with anything past Singularity I think Marcus sounds pretty solid here for the most part, despite seeing him getting shit on constantly lol

tbf this is quite easily marcus's best performance for me. still not huge on his screaming but his cleans rule on this and he sells tf out of his hooks

wish i could dig clockwork but it is so easily my least favorite here that i j skip it every time now, esp since it wasnt even intended to be on the album initially

his screams can't compare to Adrian that's for sure. honestly Adrian's harsh vox is what really got me interested in those first two Northlane albums

i just like the rhythm and hook on clockwork. I will say even though it's super catchy i wasn't really feeling carbonized, and abomination is kinda wack, i was laughing a little bit the way he comes in snarling "re-emerging as a monster"

the rhythm of the hook is catchy but the note choices of the hook on clockwork are so unpalatable to me that i j do not vibe w it. id also rank both carbonized and abomination pretty low ngl they prob round out my bottom 3 but theyve both grown on me
