It pains me greatly that I have not been to Bath either, yet I have spent many wasted hours in the steaming stinky turd known as *redacted*
I seem to have missed that part of the country completely

Going to a stag do in Bristol in two months time - only ever been before twice for training courses…though we did go for a few beers after
I did visit Bath but didn’t notice anything too amazing about it, seemed alright

I prefer Leeds to Manchester
Went to Leeds last year for three nights, was fun, it was like covid didn’t exist - northerners can’t be fucked with it

if you went during covid times it stands to reason that the people out and about would be those who didn't give a toss about it, surely not a coincidence
nothing to do with being Northern, lol

Demon - I live in London, it was totally different, masks everywhere in London and not a single one to be seen on public transport in Leeds and loads of people hugging/scuffling/kissing/whatever. Personal space invaded all the time
There were six of us there, one Manc, he saw no difference - the rest of us were 'lol, what the hell, no one gives a shit at all!'. Personally, esp since the jabs I don't really care, I put on a mask on public transport but no other time up there i think - couple of the lads I know who joined us had them cemented on the whole time, I don't get that really but fair enough. They were pretty shocked - my red pill moment for covid was going with my family and my brother's kids to Legoland end of last summer and that was insane, no masks and huge queues back to back half a meter from people, absolutely no precaution at all which I was fine for but I know people who'd have been really freaked out by that.
It was chalk and cheese the difference anyway, huge. Fair play to the folk of Leeds I was over Covid by that point really too, with the vaccine roll out all done. Just funny.

known plenty of people that did still care whilst others were out on razz or doing whatever, they just kept themselves to themselves - what I'm saying is your more likely to find those carefree folks going out socially in the first place. Get on a commuter train and a lot more people were wearing them, some still do now. They probably didn't go out in the evenings/weekends for leisure.
When me and the wife first started venturing out again places were quiet, quieter than normal. Some people were clearly still bothered by social distancing, otherwise why wasn't everything back to normal? The most 'visible' were also the most carefree/nonchalant, less bothered about bumping into people etc. I agree that in more recent months i.e. since most people got double-jabbed (autumn-ish?) etc. the attitude shifted, sure.

Two summers ago v different to one summer ago I guess
But yeah, if it wasn’t a noticeable difference…we all wouldn’t have noticed. It was obvious.

I'm grateful for this album. Feels like it has given me a shot in the arm the past six days or so, something I desperately needed during these doldrums of winter. I'm also very excited to listen to this while camping in the summer. So many of these songs feel like they'd be even more special heard alongside the crackle of a campfire.
