I just don't think in terms of X is better than Y anymore.

I'm just happy this, one of my favorite bands of all time, has released this album in spite of the state of the world and considering their age.

Obviously if you don't enjoy this, you're more than welcome to plug Number of the Beast and have a blast with the past. I'm not gonna convince anyone that this is good, but believe me when I say, you're not gonna convince me this is bad either.

I'm not gonna convince anyone either. I just think my negative perspective would make things more interesting. Like I really want to figure out what aspects people enjoy so much. I hate that I can't enjoy this (IT'S FUCKING MAIDEN FOR CHRIST'S SAKE), so I wanna know what people like about it.

Agreed with all the dudes before yup. This isnt good. Boring phoned in dull lifeless maiden making a boring album. If your big maiden fans you'll love or enjoy this album. Theres nothing bad about this. Its maiden giving you more maiden. but theres nothing worth noting either and it's pretty dull. That is all.

Fantano is all show and entertainment, controversy feeds his channel, and his opinions are subdued to that end and nothing else.

I think that's pretty unfair, Fantano really doesn't have a reason to be anything but honest in what he says about the albums he covers. And he didn't even do a review for Maiden, he talked about it for a few seconds in a yunoreview segment

Don't get me wrong, I like the dude and I watch his channel as the next guy, but he knows exactly what he's doing. Also, it's sad to see folks from time to time come around here to wave his ratings like they were the ultimate and definitive opinion.

(Although that usually happens when his opinions aligns with theirs, fcourse).

there are far more people here who get hysterics about his low ratings not supporting bands they simp for than taking his high ones as badges of approval. fantano discourse is bullshit, but the majority of people who bitch about this are ultimately part of the problem

the man himself is ok tbh. the way he presents his opinions has its faults (same structure for every review; inconsistently valid comparisons with other artists; slightly too much time describing music, sometimes at the expense of substantiating his arguments), but these are mainly format issues and imo it's kinda dumb to question the authenticity of his opinions when most of the issue lies with the attitudes of people citing them

This album is like tools fear inocolum. A more relaxed proggy "boring" type record. Alot of ppl loved the tool record and alot didn't. I happen to love fear but I get it when folks say it's boring. I'm sure some of yall understand the boring remarks towards this. He also didnt like either album
