This is really good but after a dozen or so listens the vocal delivery could really use some changing up. Some really excellent moments throughout but sometimes things just seem a little flat?

Yeah the vocal deficiencies are made up by insane levels of story building for sure.

hot damn steak i think you are onto something because that is precisely what it is o no !!!!

It's like some college theater kids wanted to make a folk album and I'm not with it

are you gonna punish yourself for having clicked on it by making it to the end (good luck lol)
or are you gonna respect yourself and jam the yoasobi epalbum thing i revd yesterday
|
| |
I got halfway through the 6th track and had to bail, I'll check that yoasobi sometime tho :]
|
| |
i have a vague feeling that 6th track might have been the only really good one, but maybe that was the 7th

These guys should just suck it up and make the musical they clearly want to make. Album is a masterpiece, but it demands so much from the listener. Lop 2 minutes off of every song, and 40 minutes off the album length, and I probably spin this all the time.
WJMJ III to a couple tracks down from there is easily the best part for me. Some of those songs actually stand on their own as independent works. A lot of the rest of the album is fantastic in context, but forgettable when listening in isolation.
Like a good Musical I thoroughly enjoyed my first listen through, but I'm in no rush to sit through the whole damn thing again.

"lop 2 minutes off every song" noooooooooooooooooo
also i cannot stress enough that repeated listens are what got me hooked on this thing after going through my initial complaining phase. i think you can watch my progression in this thread

Oh I get it. Think this album is a masterpiece and doesn't work if you take two minutes off of every track and shorten it. It's a full length musical theater production. It doesn't work in short form. Just saying it would be way more listenable for me in shorter form. If their next album is a tight 45 I'll be all over it.
