I think the the final tracks of Heavenward and Inlet reflect off each other really well. DIW ends with The Scientists, a song about desperately trying to save a disintegrating relationship and failing. The closing words of the album, and the band at the time, are "Too much, you're too late". Inlet ends with Shapeshifter, which features the narrator going through a solitary metamorphosis, then returning home to find a long lost lover/friend/etc. "Suddenly me just here back on the land/Reaching for you, finding your hand"

shapeshifter was the first song from this album that i listened to over and over again. love when he says “a promise made of enduring loss, you speak only of minnows and moss”

Matt Talbot might be my favorite lyricist. Everything he writes just brings me to tears.

“ Shapeshifter, which features the narrator going through a solitary metamorphosis, then returning home to find a long lost lover/friend/etc. "Suddenly me just here back on the land/Reaching for you, finding your hand"”

that one got me deep too. reminded me of my wife and how she was always a home to return through the changes life throws at you.

I could easily 5 this if "In the Den" simply weren't on it. That's the only one I don't seem to "get", but everything else is top shelf for me.
