"not one memorable moment"
The first four tracks of DtD are the strongest four song sequence they've had since AOJB, and No End In Sight is fucking killer.
But DtD is decidedly more hxc influenced than anything they'd done since KsE I so I get people not digging it.

"Largely, Killswitch has been enjoying the same safe proverbial pony ride they have been on for the last twenty years with varying degrees of success."
Yes.
Its so weird I've listened to this album twice now and I've come back with nothing remotely memorable, not bad just feels like I've heard it all before

I'm really happy about this album as it turns out. After Incarnate I had nearly given up hope but aside from a handful of tracks honoring the same tropes I've heard hundreds of times over the last couple decades, this album has some real standout tracks. Adam D is still a riff machine regardless of if some concepts are more recycled than others, but the real one shining on this record at times is Jesse. He's gotten MUCH better as a writer even since his return and it shows on the more melodic stuff. His screaming parts aren't as standout but that's because we all know what to expect from him there. Us Against the World is a song I can listen to on repeat even if the lyrics don't really go anywhere thematically.
P.S. The Signal Fire sounds eerily similar to the eponymous track on the most recent Trivium album... I'm not convinced that this is entirely coincidence, considering how well that album did for Trivium.
