So this is pop right? If so, I’ll avoid. Just not a genre I’m into, nothing against those who are.

it's dreamy indie rock, definitely not straight up pop. I see you have Radiohead and Manchester Orchestra at a 5, so you might enjoy this. The first song (Pope) is one of the best and a good indication of the rest of the album, so go off that. Also try Suddenly, has a nice jazzy horn section near the end

Yeah, I wouldn't call this pop. It's indie with some pop sensibilities, you might say.

Well apparently anything that isn't grindcore is pop to some of you people

Why are people hating on pop? Just like all genres, there's good stuff to find there!

This is exactly why I am not listening to that new Bad Books album. So you don't think I'm deliberately trolling you LOL

I’m not hating on it, I simply don’t like straight up pop. It annoys me tbh. I tend to like darker and sometimes heavier music as I just find it and the themes more interesting. Not hating.

Some music I like has pop sensibilities (3rd Eye Blind for one). Also my daughter loves Billie Eillish so I’ve been hearing that a bunch — not half bad. I like that it’s a little darker and edgier (edgy in a good way).

Jesus, a 1?! Haven’t even heard this yet but no way it’s a damn 1. It’s not Corey Feldman or DJ Khaled or some shit like that lol.

Every time I come back to try this album I always realise that I remember nothing from the last time I listened to it, so that makes me think it's kind of crap, but then listening to it I always enjoy it for the couple of listens I give it before I go listen to something else.

Strange album that I just can't form an opinion on. Maybe it'll click properly one day.

I can kind of relate, I remember listening to it the first 3 times through (although never fully focusing on the album) and I could never really remember specific tracks, but I enjoyed it. Then when I started paying attention, it clicked hard.
