At least we can all agree that the Ghost bass is consistently awesome.

Yeah the problem here is the songwriting. You can hear the bass down there just thirsting for a good riff.

Lacking a From the Pinnacle moment.

It's really lacking a Cirice/Zombie Queen centerpiece style track, if that makes sense.
The album has grown on me a tad since it came out, but I hope they go in the exact opposite direction for the next record.

"Miasma is the shit but I fucking hate helvetfonster"
Both are amazing, the outro to Helvetfonster is the best moment on the album.

It actually works really well as a prelude to Life Eternal.

yeah that boring ass acoustic outro that drones for like three minutes is amazing
Probably my least favorite moment in their whole discography
|
| |
Eh, I think this one's a bit too "pop" for my liking.

Lol @ pretending this is better than Infestissumam

at least each song here is memorable. Depth of Satans Eyes, Body and Blood, and Idolatrine are some of the most boring in their entire catalog, and they're all next to each other.
I'd say Infestissumam has more highs (Zombie Queen and Year Zero most notably) but this record is more consistent.

I to agree that this one is more memorable, but Infestissumam is more "out of the box", and clearly a more 70's psychedelic approach. Still dig even more the debut and Melliora.
I got a question - are the related bands reliable? I mean, I love Ghost and think the dudes are pretty unique, but there's anything that sounds somewhat like Ghost but with its own identity? (no hard rock/ power ballad bands please lol)

Astral Sabbat by Jess and the Ancient Ones could easily be a Ghost song: https://youtu.be/5hgWxb1bXkE

cool track indeed Ega X), and looks like a cool band to check. I'm aware of the Scandinavian psych rock revivalist scene. Is just that Ghost somehow manage to be that and remain metal. Not quite what I was looking to get but interesting stuff. TKS X)
