'60s and '70s albums have a great sound imo. I don't consider myself a specialist in order to say if it's because of production or whether these guys worked more on their tone, sounds, etc. (probably a little bit of everything) but every instrument sounded better. The drums now sound like plastic, the bass is like it's not even there and don't get me started on the guitar tone.

Analog requires knowledge that the newer generations do not have. It is also expensive in this day and age. Back in the 50's/60's/70's, analog recording and production was the only means of recording so it wasn't like these generations had an alternative.
