in what world is muse not easily recognizable

"I enjoyed bvb self titled a lot, should I give it a high rating even though it’s qualities are certainly not worth it? Basic riffs, basic lyrics, basic song structures and monotone vocals"
You should absolutely give it a good score if you enjoy it a lot and not give it a fucking 2.5 because it isn't "objectively good"

Park he's saying all of the 5's
|
| |
Rating for objectivity's sake is wack tbh

"Park he's saying all of the 5's"
this mgiht be a regional thing or w/e but i bet money that muse is way more well known than deftones or to some extent even alice in chains
"Rating for objectivity's sake is wack tbh"
agreed
"Not to mention multiple albums from the same band and nothing unique whatsoever."
why should uniqueness be pursued at the expense of everything else? also this seems a bit self-contradicting, if he thinks they're 5s why shouldnt he 5 them, just because others deign that only one of them should be a 5? lol

Park he's saying all of the 5's someone has from various known artists
|

but his shit is the same tho except for a few

Album Rating: 2.5
"So with Green Day's debut, which has a 3.5, I 5'd it because it's my favorite album. I love all the guitars, lyrics, drumming, everything. Even the cheap production because it adds to it. Other people don't like the production or the drumming. Should I not 5 it because it has a 2.6 and some people don't like something? I love these things so I will 5 it. Drake's Views, I love his rapping, the beats, his singing, the features, everything. Many people find a lot of the songs dull and cringey. I don't. I love it all so I 5 it.
"If we were to rate everything how we feel instead of criticizing what needs to be criticized, and appreciating what should be appreciated every review would worthless because it would not be a review."
If we were to rate everything objectively with no opinion then there would be nothing to talk about. Every user would be dull in their music taste. Rating how we feel is the whole damn point of rating."
All of this. Drifter hit the nail on the head

never said this tbh. I just said it's better to give a 5 rating on one muse album compared to having a flat, non-unique, easily identifiable albums as your 5s, thus I called it basic. So, what are you even arguing about?
Rating for objectivity's sake is wack tbh
Yes.
|
| |
yea i see this kinda stuff in a bunch of places and while it makes the least sense in music, it never makes a whole lot of sense
i have to wonder, have the people who hold these viewpoints on the philosophy of critique ever taken a fucking high school literature class? because literature is clearly not critiqued strictly in objective terms
nice dig btw necro

Oop "Should I not 5 it because it has a 2.6 and some people don't like something? I love these things so I will 5 it" was supposed to be in a different place in that comment but yeah point still stands

"I just said it's better to give a 5 rating on one muse album compared to having a flat, non-unique, easily identifiable albums.
well i dont really agree but then again im way past the age where id value obscurity over actual musical quality
im sure u can find some ppl on this website who think that demo bootlegs of minimal drone ambient is the only real music and everything else is entry level garbage who will wholeheartedly agree with you
unless theyre banned

and this is a 100% objective review.

People like Hvunted should definitely watch it.
@park and for sure, you can disagree with me. It's completely understandable. It's just my opinion, duh.
|
| |
i mean id even go one step further and say that if youre genuinely worried about your ratings being too easily-identifiable then you should probably grow the fuck up lol no one gives a fuck about some college freshman who thinks he knows everything there is to know about music
not really targeting that at anyone in particular just saying in general

Album Rating: 1.5
Once again extremity. I have never said that all ratings should be the same. As I stated, it’s fine if they are different. As long as everything is constructively described, just as you did here, and you don’t blindly 5 everything because you just love the artist. And as long as you don’t 5 a honestly awful record. Btw, some time ago I’ve been reading comments under OK Computer’s review, and there has been a guy who did not like an album, rated it a 2.5 or something. As far as I disagree with his opinion he tried to point out why he did not like that record, and I’ve seen you commenting and other people picking up on him because he had a different opinion. Why didn’t you defend him there? He just did not like the album, but did not hate it without a purpose. I mean, he was dumb af, blamed people who liked hip hop or smth, but anyway, was it okay to make fun of that guy then? It’s interesting how you defend the guy reviewing here, because he has different opinion but then you were just lmao’ing at that dude

FirstLemur is a fuckin idiot
I assume that's who you're referencing
|
| |
Did I do that? Lol lemme see what happened
|

I don't know what you're talking about hut he either deserved it or I was just messing around because no one should take it seriously

Album Rating: 1.5
You were not insulting the guy by any means, but you were clearly poking fun of him. Maybe because of his statement about hh, maybe about the album rating. I may be wrong however
|
| |
Are you talking about the same dude that said something like "A rap 5 is like a 2.5/5"?
