Birth of The Economic Hitman is a track that I never see get enough love, definitely one of their best. i'll swear by the first 6 on Violent Waves being such an incredible run for them. love the 1 2 punch of My Only Friend and Phantasmagoria

Phantasmagoria is the real gem of VW imo though.

I had VW and valtari by sigur ros as the two cds in my car and i basically listened to them each, every day for about 6 months straight. Valtari used to almost put me to sleep - probably not the best album to drive to.

i checked out Descensus last night after seeing the talk about it in the last page or so, and it's stellar. it took me for a bit of a loop having only heard this and Juturna but really revealed some new strengths to the band that I hadn't considered before. "Child of the Desert", "Nesting Dolls", and the closing title track are up there as new favorite Circa Survive tunes for me.

and shit, listening to Descensus also renewed my imagination in regards to this weird interconnected story i've always felt is threaded through the band's albums, even if it's mostly through the artwork and random scenes in my head with the lyrics. i might just burn through the rest of their records within the next year or two so i can start piecing that together in a more definitive form for once.
