Dark times is better than both RPBMH and self titled imo, summertime and bff are supreme tho

everything after Big Fish is exceedingly mediocre and phoned in feeling

Him and earl are so frustrating I feel like they are both capable of dropping a 5/5 alb but refuse to for their own weird reasons. Fortunately we got this which is near perfect and is on par with earls best

summertime is still my favorite by a considerable margin

new track is decent. the rock instrumentation doesnt hit as hard as i was hoping but interested to see him do more with it. the lyrics are really what make it

i find it kinda interesting how they've both kinda ceased making music with a pulse post-2018. like neither is interested in making """bangers""" at all anymore. i still really like earl's work (utility not withstanding) but vince to me has been kinda aimless for almost a decade now at this point. hasn't made anything bad and has plenty of good songs here and there but nothing i'm really playing anymore 3-6 months after release

man Cry Baby is super disappointing. Did not need Vince with a Tame Impala sounding band for his beats especially after dropping arguably his best project with Dark Times.
|
| |
yeah hate to say it but i can't fucking stand the new one. vince's rapping is as good as always but the whole thing sounds like a fucking american eagle ad, doesn't match the lyrics at all

History repeats itself. I love the new Vince but others here ain’t feeling it. Oh well!
|
| |
liked the first single and the others were ok but yeah the beats are too sleepy for the angry, political tone he seems to be going for. for a rap album with confrontational political lyrics over post-punk-ish beats, the new Genesis Owusu just came out

I just dont like the live band vibe for whatever reason, it's not like these beats and songs are bad but they are not doing it for me rn. I like him on darker production
|
| |
is it actually a live band on the new one? they certainly tried their best to mask that lmao
