ok i'm gonna try to write something that isn't completely antagonizing to another user who would rather side with wil in this situation so here it goes
some of the things that he said in that statement the other day made me feel like that he was manipulating the people who hadn't read the emails into thinking georgia was this absolute monster running around with a butcher's knife ready to cut dicks off and framing the people who dropped him from everything as if they had some sort of vendetta against him. it also doesn't help matters that right after he wrote that master's thesis long conniption he announced a tour--i know the people who are siding with him are gonna say that the band needs to find a way to make a living and wil is just one member of the band but typically the frontman is the one who makes all the executive decisions and imo he should've come out about this whole situation long before any shows were to be announced.
i don't understand how after writing that whole thing he would expect people to not go after georgia? iirc there wasn't even an apology or any accountability towards any emotional (or, heaven forbid, physical) harm to her, it was just blatant victim mentality throughout. you hate to see it tbh.
i think i'm about done with this band for a while, kinda getting sick of doing this.

eh they done a lotta good stuff too, particularly on the front of combating actual sexual harassment at shows. plus its cool havin some ladies with searing lyrics like CC and stella donnelly at the forefront of the aussie scene. i mean you can take everything they say as gospel or approach it with a grain of salt and just appreciate them as a manifestation of feminist fury. like, you can back a narrative that "crazy feminists are subverting justice thru liberal media and cyberbullying" or realise that no ones actually gonna ban cis men from reviewing CC or enforce 50/50 gender quotas at major festivals any time soon. do you think rappers in the 80s and 90s actually advocated murdering cops?

why do you have a problem with a raging feminist in a band composed of two other raging feminists blowing out hot air over twitter? it's not like georgia or anybody else in CC has the power to shut down sput for writing 1-star reviews for their last album, i don't think that was their modus operandi. they wrote that album to tell stories of misogyny and sexual abuse in the music industry which have, believe it or not, come at the hands of cis men. the fact that users like luci and gyromania are still getting adamantly upset over what she posted on twitter last year only further reinforces the narrative that they still care more about their insecurities of being cis men than anything else.
