This is hardly run-of-the-mill, but there's prevalent post-rock elements with Alcest. They resemble Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros at times, especially on Shelter.

T/t and Untouched are incredible. I think I like it more than Ecailles, feels more polished.

Lantlos and Deafheaven are probably next best after this band, and Liturgy are very divisive. Astronoid is a great new act, kind of like thrash metal meets dream pop and shoegazing.

astronoid are terrible tho, mostly cause of the whiny post-hardcore vocals

I remember really enjoying Astronoid

Some good places to go from Alcest / Lantlos / Deafheaven for Mongi or anyone else:

Les Discrets - Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées is somewhat similar to Ecailles, the band also did a great split with Alcest as well

Amesoeurs - Amesoeurs excellent blackgaze band and album formed by Niege

Autumn for Crippled Children - Try Not To Destroy Everything You Love pretty and very fuzzy sounding, vocals buried in the mix, very enjoyable

Woods of Desolation - Torn Beyond Reason I can't get into this band, but others might enjoy it more

Fen - Carrion Skies for anyone missing Agalloch, this is a fantastic atmospheric bm record with some blackgaze elements

I've only heard this band, Lantlos, Deafheaven, latter Drudkh and new Coldworld so my experience in the style is pretty shallow.

Hence my above post covering pretty much all of the exceptional bands worth hearing. Half of them seem to involve Niege in some way haha

I haven't been able to get into them Art but it probably should be on the list, I remember them having post-hardcore tendencies
