The Saudis are responsible for the spread of Wahhabi Islam throughout the world, (lol try to explain the relationship between U.S. Foreign Intervention and Boko Haram); https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petro-Islam

They have published and exported literally millions of Wahhabi-codified Korans and built thousands of mosques with oil money. They have been a major exponent in this global caliphate. That's not to discount the political instability that Iraq experienced when foreign military pulled out, but the religion itself has been poisoned at it's core with this sect of Saudi ultra-conservatism. These incidents are the most honest and linear interpretation and application of the texts. Sad.

Also this exact debate happens on sput every time there is a terrorist attack.

Piglet this one just is a real sickener that it took place at an event where 50% of the people there are most likely kids/young teenagers and was a nail bomb to boot. Another level of barbarity has been reached.

I actually got a chill when I read that the tour/album was called "Dangerous Woman."

Don't get me wrong I'm happy a debate is happening as a consequence, and you're right, the nature of this terrorist attack is unique in the West, only its just frustrating to see a record spinning around the same groove.

"People are born without any predisposition to others. They develop it by ways of religion and upbringing."

That is completely unscientific mumbo jumbo. Tribalism is a deeply, deeply rooted phenomenon, evolution selected for ppl who are tribal, it's in your genes, the jury is out on this and has been for a long time, read any book.

And while I share your sentimentint towards religion in general it's pretty tasteless to just jump onto this tragedy within the first 24 hours and make it all about you and your agenda.

Would it really be a conversation on the internet if someone didn't simplify down a complicated issue and misconstrue the facts to fit their own agenda?

I mean that's what most conversations seem to be like, not just on the internet. But yeah most ppl talking with absolute certainty while being in a state of complete ignorance is particularly bad on the wonderful wide web.

I always think that the sign of someone actually knowing what they're talking about when it comes to complex world issues is the humility - the understanding they have that however much they know, there's so much more they don't.

It's grea to feel like you have the answer to something like this and it feels good telling other people you're right and they're wrong but how does it achieve anything?

Has anyone on this website claimed to have all the answers regarding this issue though? :/

Ok, I'll concede he is the most extreme, though even he doesn't break it down into what exact action governments should take or time frames...unless I've missed out the juicier stuff :D

A little worried by his ideas of deporting large numbers of people - that's moving towards, as you suggested, something totalitarian/a police state. The rest of what he says doesn't seem too inflammatory.

I actually agree a whole lot with problems he identifies with the current policies in europe, he just rustled my jimmies real bad because he's going waaaaaaaaay to far in the other direction and suggesting all these histerical solutions.

"Hope you're well, mate."

Sorry, I'm just bitter and cynical. I was just really angry about this last night. Tired of seeing folks taken in such vile and senseless acts.

The problem is, indeed, much greater than one word or one sentence.
