Tom's passing definitely made this music more powerful and relevant, but I always thought it was even massive beforehand

This review is legit tbh, even if I have a different opinion. Some songs on this are rather by the numbers

Okay, judt listened to it. It's not really different than the last two records, but the song has its own groove

New song is pretty good, Sam still sounds great.

Sam is what Oliver Sykes always wanted to be but lacked the talent and overall quality.
Song is still on repeat, it's like a blend between Hollow Crown, Daybreaker and this.

It's crazy to think I've been listening to this band since 2008. Ten years. Christ, I'm getting old.
My music tastes, especially in metal, have evolved greatly since being obsessed with Hollow Crown; so I listen to much more 'inventive' stuff now.
However, I am OK with what Architects have been doing the last couple of albums. After the debacles that were THAN and Daybreaker, I'm perfectly fine with them sticking with the sound they found on LF/LT. While they're not reinventing the wheel of catchy metalcore, they're at least doing this sound better than 100% of the other bands attempting to ride this wave.
I really like the production of this new single. Nolly is one heck of a producer, that's for sure. So this album should sound like their best work in that regard.
Also, while the sound is definitely similar to the past two albums, Middleton's tone is pretty damn gutteral. Gives it a bit of a heavier punch. I dig it.
