Anyone hear the new version of Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales from Fallon the other week? I'm in love with it, honestly wish the album's version was more similar.

It's pretty nice, though the original is unbeatable. I really love Will and Ethan's harmonies in that live performance, plus Will has gotten better at keeping his voice under control.

anyone who thinks this is too long needs to git gud and listen to nervous young man

The only reason I think this is too long is because the last two tracks are by far the weakest so I lose interest (granted the last is only like a minute long)

connect the dots is not one of the best along with unforgiving girl/world/girl/world/girl/world/girl/world etc. but it still rocks hard

The problem I guess is that it comes right after Ballad of the Costa Concordia.
Also Connect the Dots sounds kind of pop-punk-esque to me which is a major turnoff.

Ballad would have been the better closer yeah

word is is that most of this was written before how to leave town/nervous young man with the intention of making a straightforward rock record, and just happened to be his first major label effort even if it's pretty unrepresentative of his recent sound - next album will be a monster IMO

Still haven't heard any of the guy's other work, but I'll definitely be on the look out for any other work he puts out.
Vincent is the best song ever btw

fam you gotta check out how to leave town + nervous young man at the very least, both stronger than this by a distance.
twin fantasy is the consensus best but it's insanely lo-fi so ymmv
monomania has some of his GOAT songs but is patchy

Did they play more than Drunk Drivers?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
no, but they did a completely different version that also incorporated a section of one of my favorite CSH songs, 'plane crash blues' off nervous young man which is legit
