You know it's crazy just how many people have been online to say that all police are awful and should kill themselves. It's so stupid. It's like people don't see the irony in hating all police because of a generalisation of the few police that hate black people because of a generalisation of the few black people.

What I'm saying is, 80% of the people I went to school with have posted statuses just as bad as those TWIABP tweets with regards to the police. And that's depressing.

I think it's downright disgusting to shame all policement because of the actions of a few. This makes me not want to listen to TWIABP anymore, that's for sure. I mean, I got put off listening to Brave Bird, and what they said was nowhere near as bad as what Whirr or TWIABP said.

If it was just a few then it would be something like the UK police system which is a hell of a lot better but still has it's own problems

It would be a very, VERY strange coincidence if every policeman in America was an extreme racist. It's just a job. There are racists in all walks of life. We only hear about the policeman ones because they get more media attention, and they're the ones who can more easily get away with / justify their killings. Is there a greater incidence of racism among policeman than other professions? Maybe... probably. I guess if you are racist then being a policeman might be an appealing job to you. There may be other reasons for an increased incidence. But at the end of the day policeman are just people, and their personalities are as varied and ungeneralisable as any other community of people.

We can debate the cut-off of what consistutes "a few", but I'm sure we can all agree that not all police are racist or even bad people in any way, so there is literally no justification for hurling hatred towards the entire police community.
