Just a great record all around. Plenty of great cuts on this new record. A job well done.
And just remember: the types of people who hate this album are the same types that hated the Black album when it came out, but no one bitches about that album anymore, it's a classic in all Metallica fans' Arsenal
Give it some time, That's the Spirit is on the same boat and will be a classic

b) no. Perhaps I wouldn't have been as disappointed as I had high hopes after Sempiternal but it certainly doesn't change the way I feel about the music itself

what the fuck are you talking about. this is trash. the only reason i can think of someone thinking this is flawless is someone who either hasn't listened to much music or looks for music that is as direct and catchy as it gets.
i mean each to their own and i respect why you would like it but the whole soak it in thing is bullshit. if i need to lay in bed to enjoy an album its not flawless
