I haven heard the two newer songs yet, I'm trying to wait to get the full package but idk if I can wait 2 months. Weird that he released 3 songs so quickly though.

Ballad is really nice, Pure Comedy the single isn't so much... I just wish for FJM to finally come out with an album that's a little more than 'just good' for me. Hope this one is finally the case.

Fleet Foxes single when, tho.

I saw it leaked, I'm holding out until the official release, although it is quite a ways away.

I'm going to hold judgement until I hear the whole thing. I try not to build much expectations for some releases because it tends to skew my opinions; like I may prefer the more rock and roll oriented FJM just like I prefer Steve Carell's comedic side the most, but I don't want that preference to get in the way of being able to enjoy a more solely acoustic album from FJM, just like I'd want to enjoy movie's like Foxcatcher and The Big Short despite it being dramatic performances from Carell.

Didn't realize Leaving L.A. was 13 minute and I became really disoriented wondering if it was a new song, but still recognizing the acoustic motif. Anyway, new album is beautiful and intense and surprisingly MORE cynical than the last.

it's 13 ballads at the same tempo with the same vocal melodies. safe and boring af

on first impressions i agree with lucid, it tends to drag. he's obviously going full piano man here and i think he's a little too in love with his own lyrics. plenty of stuff to unpack though maybe it will grow on me
