"can't believe this is pitchfork's aoty "
I can't believe people read Pitchfork
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
Why? Reading Pitchfork is like reading any other review site. Sure they have some odd opinions sometimes, but who doesn't?

"can you write better? i sincerely doubt it "
I don't need to write better because there are hundreds of sites which already do that

Haha, I'm just joking. I'm incredibly indifferent toward the site.
|
| |
i just don't get the animosity. i feel like someone just started railing on them and then it became cool to hate them, even though they're clearly very articulate writers whose reviews make sputnik's look like a joke by comparison sometimes.
if you don't need to write better than them, but you claim their reviews are shit, what does that say about your writing prowess?

"what does that say about your writing prowess?"
Considering I'm little more than a fanboy who hasn't even been writing for a year, I wouldn't be bragging about my writing ability anyway.

just read their review for Get-Up Kids' Something To Write Home About there's plenty of evidence there
|
| |
I remember I gave this a 3.5 a few months ago. What the fuck was wrong with me.
|

Douchey logic, you don't need to write better than someone to be able to criticize their writing, it'd be as silly as saying to a reviewer he can't criticize a record because he couldn't compose a better one
|
| |
experienced readers (in this case of reviews) can develop taste as much as music listeners and are perfectly capable of recognizing bad writing without being actual writers themselves
