First 3 on here are (probably) as good as anything on WYBWH

i'm still of the strange minority (perhaps the only one?) who thinks this is their best album.

don't think this has the highlights of WS or the overall excellence of WHBWH - would rank it between the two and (with respect and affection) as B-tier Anathema overall. was defs taken with it on release though

Considering recent personal events, 'Ariel' definitely hurts me the most

Been listening to a fair bit of these again recently.
This is the bands best, it’s everything they were ever meant to be.

Not sure it's their best but this is a really refined version of their later sound, is impressive.
'We're Here Because We're Here' did the nu-Anathema sound first and was an absolutely massive album for me when it dropped...so I'd still stick with that as my favourite of theirs since 2010.

They’re an odd one aren’t they.
Very out of place, ill-fitting and a bit Eurovision power ballad but when it’s good it’s up there with the very best.

I've always maintained they never quite managed to release an outright classic album.
I'm sticking with that.

Yup, somehow they channel the emotion and display some subtlety...despite getting close to full on Euro trash level pompous/bombastic

For the genre The Silent Enigma is a classic

Hell yeah. The Silent Enigma isn't talked about enough.

'A Dying Wish' is an absolute classic but I haven't done the rest of the album real justice - only listened to it four or five times over twenty years...I hadn't listened to 'Eternity' much before I joined Sput either.
Crazy discog to get lost in thinking about it.
