Diggin the new album so far
Aw damnmit, a not so heavy less riffy radio pop rockish song just came up. This is where the usually struggle, lol

Probably an unpopular opinion but All Ends Well is one of my favourite songs on this. Album is great but I have to be in the right mood for it, can get pretty grating after a while.

I love All Ends Well too, the chorus is so grand. Even though it is a little cheesy, Miles' vocal performance is so stellar.

relistening to some of this while reviewing the new one. "Waters Rising" has such a sick riff, def one of their best

It's so strange how this record is so much better than anything that came after it

This was indeed a pretty high water mark career wise..
Setting aside the fact that I'm a hardcore AB fan, I think the really really bad production on TLH and WTS really hurt those albums' appeal. Shit grates on the ears after seconds and crushes out a lot of the little details, changeups and flourishes AB loves to put in their songs.. I would give a lot for a proper remix/re-record of those 2 ... Pawns and Kings is a banger and is a little underrated IMO

Pawns and Kings had some nice songs and indeed has quite horrid production. But I think production is not the only thing making those records worse than this, these songs are just so much more adventurous it seems.
