new favourite thing to do is rap Killer Mike's entire first verse on Job Well Done. it's one of the first (good) verses that I can actually do the entire thing,.

killer mike and el-p

fuck boys know the combination aint healthy

tell me if you smell the

marijuana hanging off my breath, blowin smoke

and im coffin like im damn near death

if i died right now i would be so fresh to death

they would have to say "that fat muthafucka coffin fresh

god damn, fat bastard! where that motherfucka casket?"

but nah you gon get this here vertical

every word murderful, surgical

painful, purposeful

and i take it left off you fuck list personal

(oooo!!)

they done let that fuckin mike out

it's like Tyson in the 80s, nigga snap and punch your lights out

(yeah! yeah!)

it's like Tyson in the 90s, if im losin take a bit out

i'm so muthafuckin grimy

so muthafuckin greedy, gritty

momma said she couldn't breast feed cause I was biting at the titty

beast

I had only heard Cancer for Cure but am currently in the process of familiarizing myself with his older stuff. Got his other solo LPs and am listening to Company Flow right now. Still gotta check some stuff but I'm not like rushing through it or anything. It'll be interesting to see his progression for sure.

honestly El's verse in the closer gives me chills every fucking time, and I listen to that song like 12 times a day

"...The most impressionable minds get molested and informed by manipulating forces

Don't fret little man, don't cry

They can never take the energy inside you were born with

Knowing that, understand you could never be poor

You already won the war, you were born rich

You can only take the energy you had going back to the realm or the home where your lord is

Whoever whatever that lord is couldn't give a fuck if you ever made fortunes

Fuck anyone ever trying to run that bum shit

Send 'em to the flames where the orcs live

Them and the lost minds thinking they're smarter than us don't understand love's importance

And we can weaponize that, bring 'em back to the truth where the ashes and dust got formed in"

fucking perfect

Can't say I blame you. Shit's just too awesome for its own good. Top 5 of the year for me hands down.

Elp is the most underrated rapper

Maybe cause producing is his "thing"? Still, I don't think it could be argued that his rapping isn't

great at the very least. White boy got flow.

truth^ they play off eachother very very well. El-P once again proves he's the king of beats. Jokes about Yeezus aside, this is way better than Yeezus. The two aren't even in the same dimension, let alone planet.
