This is Megadave on autopilot but i take it over Risk because of how good the instrumentation is. Risk sounds absolutely nothing like Megadeth and instead feels like a cheap cash in at having big charting hits, stealing the waste product backwash from every 90’s band (Soundgarden, Rob Zombie, Marylin Manson, even 90’s Metallica), and it doesn’t utilize what that lineup could’ve done.
Also, fight me but this t/t is underrated and quite charming lol. Easily the best song here

Chris broderick shreds on this album but that’s about it. honestly "don't turn your back..." is a pretty decent song and a good closer with a great solo from Dave mustaine.

finally got to this lol. kingmaker is alright and then the next four songs are almost unlistenable. so so bad, as bad as it's rep. made 13 sound like rust in peace and risk even better in hindsight. that was at least pretty well done for what it was going for. dave trying to be bon jovi is mega cringe.
dance in the rain is kind of ok too. then the rest of the second half is just mediocre, not the worst thing ever. sorta sounds like it's trying to be load in the back half. dave at his vocal worst so much talk singing, he's even better today after throat cancer. pretty bad but i guess it's not the worst thing ever. easily their worst by far though.

Same titan. I was comparing it to the new s/t and saying this is better. Way better actually. Built for War, Kingmaker, Beginning of Sorrow, even The Blackest Crow.
