Gore Obsessed is my least fav but it's still a solid 3.5 imo.

Bloodthirst and Gore Obsessed are neck and neck for me but I'd have to jam again to decide. Agreed on the 3.5 though. I can also see Cause of Death being very overrated and I've always thought the same but Murphy's soloing style gives me eargasms lol. Upon checking my CC and Obituary ratings I definitely need to hit up that mod thread and get my ratings wiped ha

"Slowly and Cause are two of the most overrated dm albums ever imo tbh hahaha. I mean there's some dece riffs but they're boring af for the most part to me."
Hey hawks, thats my exact opinion on cannibal corpse, and obituary as well
and unleashed and grave.
Look at that, we agree on something

Obituary is overrated for sure, although I like Slowly We Rot. Cause of Death has some fun songs but the only real highlight is Murphy's solos.
I wouldn't call Unleashed or Grave overrated at all. They don't get nearly as much love as some other Swedish dm bands do.

No love for the end complete guys?
|
| |
Grave and unleashed get worshiped as some of the best dm bands of all time, yet they are not even close.
Into the grave and you will never see is the only really good albums from grave, all the other stuff is pretty mediocre and unleashed I dont find interesting at all. even their highly rated albums.
Both are pretty 2nd rate bands
|
| |
Slowly We Rot is one of the best albums ever
Cause of Death is average and the production really brings it down
End Complete is trash
Grave is ultra trash
Unleashed is average
Cannibal Corpse rule and their first three are some of the best dm albums ever made

Where are Grave and Unleashed being hailed as some of the best dm bands of all time? They're almost always considered second rate to Dismember/Entombed and the like. Most people on this site have their "classic" albums rated at 3.5-4 (even the reviews) with some people rating them a tad higher or lower.
Same with other sites like RYM/metal archives etc. -- pretty mixed reviews. Some people do like them a lot, others not so much. And I personally haven't ever met anyone who thought Grave or Unleashed were the best dm bands ever lol. A lot of people hold certain albums in high regard but like I said, still considered second rate to others by the majority of fans.

Yeah I've never seen anyone praise them heavily, or even bring them up much at all

Neither have I tbh. I dig what I've heard from both bands but I never thought of them as some of the best.

Grave came on my shuffle the other day and I didnt remember them sounding as bad as they did.

I still think Grave's latest two albums are quite good.

Yeah I thought those ones were good too. Actually, Endless Procession of Souls is probably my fav Grave album.
But yeah never thought of them as goat or anything. Def fun to listen to sometimes, although their discog is all over the place in terms of quality. Their groove metal (or whatever you'd call it) stuff from the mid-late 90's is pretty bad.

I like Into the Grave a lot but haven't dived too much into their discography. Honestly aside from Gorement and a few other odd releases the Swedish sound was always real hit or miss for me
|
| |
gorement are the best swedish death metal band, the ending quest is one of the best albums ever.
|
| |
I actually think its better than left hand path and ever flowing stream

Agree with you 1000% on that
|
| |
Left Hand Path and Dark Recollections cannot be beat sorry
|
| |
except they can by the ending quest.
Dark recollections and path dont do melody as good as gorement, I dont see whats so amazing about dark recollections, its good but nowhere near as memorable as ending quest

Ending Quest trumps every Swedish death metal album for me by quite a lot but it's all preference. I'm a sucker for leads and nobody was dishing them out like on that album
