I don't get this at all Kman. They were just trying to write a fucking record. This was like their 5th album man, they were already trying to experiment more on Long Live. They just pulled out all the stops and let loose. Doesn't sound pretentious to me. And almost any time someone calls an album pretentious it just sounds stupid. Most artist are trying to do as well as their capable of. It's only when there's a feeling of self-importance or noticeable lack of honestly and humility that something will then sound pretentious, but then it probably won't be that good. You know some people think As The Roots Undo is pretentious, and you likely see it as just a really ambitious and simply awesome record. Pretentious is such a shit word, I hate it.
