Best is a little far, but yeah definitely not as trash as it's made out to be.

Causality/Geocentric Confusion/Anatomy Anomalies are my favorites on here

EDIT: 3 might even be a little low, gonna have to re-listen

I gave it a 3 for a long time but, it's really amazing how smooth the transitions are in this album, smoother than Exoplanet in that aspect

Yeah people largely shit all over this, in comparison to language and exoplanet. I'd sooner listen to this than language tho, any day.

atmospheric af synths on this take this above the other contortionist albums. seriously, though 80s as hell tones on this. right down to the production. love it.

Yeah... it has same spots where is pretty good but most of it is "one ear out the other" sort of thing

Exactly Tundra

But i liked the direction of their lastest two records and i think that Michael Lessard has such a great stage presence. Very unique guy and pretty nice in person too, after i talked with him when i saw him. TC opened for Tesseract

I hated this when it came out, as I'm sure most fans of the band did, because I wanted Exoplanet 2. But revisiting this for the first time in five years, I think this is actually an incredible album. A lot of interesting musical ideas on this, especially as this is their transition from deathcore to atmospheric metal. I also forgot what a solid vocalist Carpenter was.
