Sam’s cleans were so perfect on this one. These Colours Don’t Run was really a sign of things to come with the pitch screaming thing.

i have been thinking about the 5 myself. not only do all the songs own but the sequencing of this is perfect and makes it better than the sum of its parts

for real. Fuck i love hollowcrown absolutely but shit this brings the feels. Will consider it. Might be fun to throw a random observer 5 review down for an architects album tbh

I like untitled 1 more tbh, just a lovely little track. Lf//Lts back half is really strong so maybe that took away from the bonus tracks as well

I think Architects released too many albums too quickly and should’ve focused more on what sound they wanted for each album because I agree with onion that they rewrote those pitch scream choruses over and over after this album

Before this one there was a real progression of sound between each album especially Nightmares - Ruin - Hollow Crown and then even the more poppy effort which was considered a misstep

I think this was seen as a return to form because they went back to being heavier and after this one they were afraid to innovate anymore and lose their crowd so they churned out four albums very quickly of very similar material

Removing the context of Toms cancer All Our gods is kinda meh for the most part to me and Holy hell has moments to it but again falls sort of flat. I agree though they hit a grind and settled into the same sound.

yeah this band lost me hard after lf//lt. all our gods is a decent album but it is so mind numbingly samey for the most part and holy hell doubled down on only its worst qualities

I agree, AOGHAU has a lot of cookie cutter tracks and a few standout ones. That sound worked for LFLT, but it's not interesting enough for a second or even third record
