I do know the real history. It started out as a movement of DJ's making beats, songs, etc etc, and then once WORDS were introduced to it, it became much more than that. Even the fun songs back in the day had a message to them.

Even when words were introduced a lot of it was party stuff and the stuff that was MEANT to have more meaning (as in, aw man living like this can get hard), it was never meant to stay like that forever. That's just like saying all guitar music is supposed to be based off of Blues lyrics.
