Never said anything about calling my review laughable, I said my opinion.
I called your assertion that BTBAM's music didn't have structure laughable.
That assertion was my opinion. Bye.

“Unfortunately, after taking firm control of their output once more, they cheerfully fly the plane into the goddamn
mountain, leaving nothing but a fragmented, gleaming pile of junk…..
Tommy Rogers randomly punctuates each track with his singing, but the melodies and delivery sound tired (‘Specular
Reflection’) and occasionally LAUGHABLE (‘Augment of Rebirth’)…. The promise of a full length conclusion feels more
like a threat in this light”
“Personally, when I hear something as crap as Defeater, or Skrewdriver, I like saying that they are a huge pile of
rancid shit, perhaps even adding that their fans are sexual deviants with shrivelled gonads. Just like when I hear The
Mountain Goats I love saying that they're the most awesome fucking thing since chocolate covered boobs. Politeness
is about the worst thing humanity has ever produced, because it's all so false.”
Good bye. Enjoy continuing to share your non-elitist opinions of music, and of those who like different things or
disagree with you, with the world.

I thought this was good but some of their older material is just so, so much better.

The Latin-inspired drumming section during "Lunar Wilderness" is god-like.

I don't have anything better to do! I read every one of your posts. Both of you. As a relatively impartial observer, I can say that this argument went absolutely nowhere. You both had many valid points. I am astounded at how civil the discussion was, and I commend both of you fine fellows.
I agree with Philalethes' assertions about the music, but I disagree that to like an album, you should have to back it up. Sometimes, it's fine to just like or dislike a piece of music without any complex reasoning.

Specular Reflection is like their best written metal song

I agree. Sometimes, their "songwriting" is bad or nonexistent. I love Alaska so much because it really felt like they were writing songs, AND good music.
Specular Reflection feels like a song. For once, they made something that has a recurring theme in it.

not everything on Alaska was cohesive though. from what i remember alaska (song), roboturner and the primer were kinda all over the place, but the primer had that a motif at least

I find Alaska to be their 2nd best album barely trailing behind Colors.
