Haha of course I'm not taking offense. Jesus I'm not that up-tight. Not denying that I could essentially say some of the things I'm saying using less words but what can I say? I like to be exhaustive and elaborate on what I'm thinking haha. I'm wordy yeah but I'd like to think I'm at least being coherent. I usually don't say anything unless I have something substantial (166 comments in a year). What it comes down to is it's just kinda my style. By all means ignore me if you find it excessive. I won't take offense I promise haha

Haha sorry, I kinda love this conspiracy theory shit if you couldn't tell. I know a lot of people think it's lame but I do think there's enough here that it's not totally grasping for something that isn't there you know? And come on, how could it not be underwhelming? It's not just random people like me who are latching on to this. It's A LOT of people, even major websites. That means there's a lot of people expecting Radiohead to pull some crazy shenanigans and if they don't, that would be underwhelming.
Well of course it would be underwhelming, but it would be of their own doing and have absolutely nothing to do with the band. It makes no difference if its a couple of people or half the world expecting more, anyone who wants there to be something will generally always find something.
And in regards to this whole "revolutionary way" of releasing the album, I'm pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong) that the interview where they said that came before the term 'newspaper album' started getting thrown around. Have you seen the physical release, and looked at all 600 and whatever pieces of artwork? How do we know that there isn't some visual accompaniment hidden in that artwork to go along with the album? Personally I wouldn't call that revolutionary but it seems more solid than all the coincidences and potential elaborate hoax techniques that I wouldn't put past the band. If there is nothing more to come (and if there isn't I couldn't care less because I have 8 solid tracks to enjoy already) the worst thing Radiohead could do now is release a statement reinforcing that. if i was them I'd wait, release the physical package, and then answer all the complaints with "what, we never said anything about more material"

Lol, that totally sounds like something they would do for sure.
If there is nothing more to come (and if there isn't I couldn't care less because I have 8 solid tracks to enjoy already)
Agreed. Well, kind of. I love this album but even if it was the best album of all time, the prospect of new, perhaps even better material is still tantalizing. So yeah, love this, but I'm still excited at the chance for more.
And in regards to this whole "revolutionary way" of releasing the album, I'm pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong) that the interview where they said that came before the term 'newspaper album' started getting thrown around.
Yes I believe you're right. To my knowledge the term "newspaper album" was never thrown around until the band actually called it that on the pre-order page. I also can't say for sure though as I haven't followed any of this pre-announcement.
Your post made me smile haha. You have a very sound argument and there's no denying that. There definitely is a lot of fluff on that compilation blog of all the different clues for a part 2 of the album. Still, I think it would be a bit hasty to disregard a couple of them as coincidence. At the end of the day I think we just take a different viewpoint on the whole thing. I'm enjoying being wrapped up in the whole prospect of the second part which is a bit strange because I tend to be very strongly on the rational end of the spectrum. I do believe there is some strong evidence though so I guess I shouldn't discredit my hopes too much. Either way I'm really happy you were willing to share your view. You made some very good points and I enjoyed reading them. And we definitely agree that whatever ends up happening, this album is really good.

it seems to me like the medium for this album is only half the distributed music tracks, and the other half are all the message boards and news articles discussing The King of Limbs. first lyrics Thom speaks are "Open your mouth wide" and goes on later and says "Don't blow your mind with why".
i agree with examining this new "form" of releasing their material everyone is talking about. none of us really know what it is yet, and i'm really interested in finding out!
what if: the album is the "king of limbs", the codex of the project, and the limbs are us the audience and the ones who are distributing the message about this album to each other and those around us.
