People seem to forget the tunes he was banging out prior to this lp

i like the way he starts with these little vocal lines and then just builds all this stuff around them. the formula is pretty predictable i suppose but he's just great at it.

an dev i never said he wasn't a dubstep artist, i was just a little surprised to hear how hard some of these songs were on stage. even wilhelms scream was pretty fucking heavy

The digital enhancement of his vocals was downright beautiful live. My favorite show of the year.

Me too! The heavy bass worked really well.

I know, I was just pointing out that a lot of his early stuff (first eps + a lot of his remixes) are still quite bass heavy and more indebted to the stereotypes of the genre than anything off of this or Klavierwerke

I was thinking before then even. I always get the impression that if I (or anyone) recs an album to someone that even though they may love it they'll just leave it at that. If someone tells me about an artist and I end up really liking them I'll make sure to pick up all of their stuff, or at the very least, more

I like to take my time absorbing each release before moving on to the next, but yeah, I agree. If I love an album by an artist then I'm bound to check out something from their back catalogue. The only exception is when the artist's previous work is considered of a much poorer quality in which case I usually leave it alone.

It's pretty great, but I enjoy Klavierwerke much more.

There's also The Bells Sketch & Air & Lack Thereof as well, don't see why those two don't get just as much love around here as the others

I heard Klavierwerke before this, it's really interesting to listen to his older stuff and then this (or the other way around) to see how he uses similar elements to make a different sound.
